Thought Leadership: The Slower but Surer Road to Getting Recognized
JUNE 1, 2022

There’s enormous hype about thought leadership these days. More than 50 books have been written on the topic.
Dozens of self-styled experts on it can be found in seconds in a LinkedIn search. PR firms, ex-journalists, marketers and others are making it sound both easy and essential.
TO BE SURE, THE COACHING WORLD IS RIPE FOR THOUGHT LEADERSHIP.
The world is full of executive coaches, and in the last three years it has needed them. The pandemic’s scars on our physical health and psyches, the economic upheaval it has created in travel-related sectors, political turmoil, the loneliness of remote work, and the Great Resignation have combined to keep executives and managers on edge.
Great coaches are in greater need than ever. But the embrace of remote work has also intensified the coaching competition – the battle for coaching budgets in organizations. The pandemic has shown your clients they no longer need you on-site to get value from your expertise. You are competing against coaches from everywhere around the world – especially those with well-known brands and solid reputations.
Which coaches will maintain and grow their practices over the rest of the decade?
Having excellent references and a steady stream of referrals will always be important. However, the ones who dominate will be those who get recognized as thought leaders in their domains.
If you believe the hype about thought leadership, you will be lulled into thinking you can do this from a standing start in weeks or months. Conversely, if you are deeply skeptical about such hype, you may believe that thought leadership is something only a big firm like McKinsey or Franklin Covey can afford.
Neither is the case -- if you approach thought leadership the right way. That includes patience, faith, willingness to learn and to share, and conviction.
Bob will explain the four keys for professional coaches who want to establish themselves as thought leaders, and keep their lead stream rich in good economic times and bad.
In this webinar, you will learn:
